This session introduces K–5 teachers to using Keeley Probes as a formative assessment tool to uncover student thinking and guide instruction. Participants will experience a probe as learners, analyze student responses to identify misconceptions, and connect their use to the Science and Engineering Practices emphasized in the North Carolina standards. Teachers will leave with practical strategies for using probes to drive discussion, adjust instruction, and support deeper conceptual understanding in science.
